Internet access is available for the public. Wireless access is also available throughout the building. The Ashland Library expansion and restoration has been completed. The official grand opening was June 2, 2003. The "old" Carnegie library has been restored to its original form and colors; it houses the children's section, with meeting and staff rooms on the lower level. The expanded section holds all the remaining collections, reference, technology, and study rooms. Meeting rooms are available both during the library's open house and after hours. The large meeting has a well-equipped kitchen. Non-profit organizations may use these facilities at no cost other than a damage deposit; there is a charge for other groups. Call the library directly, 541-774-6996, to arrange meeting times. The Board of Directors for the Friends of the Ashland Public Library meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:15 p.m. in the Guanajuato Room at the Library. The annual meeting for members is held during the first quarter of the year at locations appropriate to the program. For more information on membership and meetings, contact Amy Blossom, at 541-774-6987. |
