Local residents, Art and Marian Sugden, and artist Mel Coffman donate fish sculptures to the Shady Cove Branch Library.
The Shady Cove Friends of the Library meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Shady Cove Library. For more information, contact Pat Brooks, President, 541-878-4810.
Shady Cove Branch Library’s Book Nook
Books are for sale the second Tuesday of each month from 1-3 p.m. in the “Book Nook” (adjacent to the community meeting room) in the Shady Cove Branch Library. You’ll find great prices on everything–including paperback “scruffies” priced at six for $1.00. Most paperbacks are $.25 each and most hardback copies are $1.00 each. All children's books are $.25 each. The Friends also sponsor an ongoing book sale inside the library.
Brian’s Birthday Book Program
The Friends of the Shady Cove Library are again sponsoring Brian’s Birthday Book—a book gift program—for the children of Shady Cove, Trail, and surrounding areas. From ages 2 through 5, children are eligible to receive a free book on their birthday. Parents will receive a folder with great information about sparking their child’s interest in reading.
The program was originally started by an anonymous donor and funded for the first year. Now all funds are raised by the Friends of the Shady Cove Library through book sales, a donation jar at the Library, and through various programs.
Parents may register their children at the Shady Cove Library during open hours.
