*** Out-of-town genealogists take note: *** To request an obituary or genealogical information that would have been published prior to 1953, please fill out our online form. We are happy to confirm dates of death using the Oregon Death Index. We can also provide photocopies of obituaries from our local newspapers. Written requests for pre-1953 obituaries can be sent to: Reference Department A suggested donation of $5 per obituary is greatly appreciated. Checks may be made out to the Jackson County Library Foundation. If you are searching for an obituary that would have been published in one of our local newspapers from 1953 to the present, please contact the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society and Library (RVGS). RVGS maintains a file of obituaries (incomplete for 1953-1970 and complete for 1971-present) and will provide you with copies of obituaries for a fee.
