Class Visits

Class visits to your local branch library or to the Medford Headquarters library can be arranged with any of the following emphases:

  • Orientation tour
  • Research tour
  • Storytime
  • Book care talk
  • Browsing and check-out
  • School classes
  • After school programs
  • Special needs
  • Other groups
All class visits must be scheduled. Some days or times may be unavailable for class visits because of limited space, seating, equipment or staff. Please call the library where you would like to schedule a tour. To make sure your class gets the most out of your library visit, please read,  How to Have a Successful Class Visit to the Library.

If you would like to e-mail your request to Medford or Ashland please click on the library and grade level below and fill out the Class Visit form. E-mail forms must be submitted 7 days in advance of the visit. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact the library prior to your visit.

Library In-Service For Teachers

Jackson County librarians offer annual workshops to help teachers stay up-to-date on library resources. Sessions include tips on how to use the online catalog, electronic media, and how to schedule library class visits. Contact your local branch library to find out about Library In-Service workshops.

Keep your students reading throughout the summer!!!
Contact your local branch library in the spring to schedule a Summer Reading presentation at your school. We'll do a short program for your class or school assembly to get your students excited about joining the library's Summer Reading Program .

Outreach To Daycare

Jackson County Library Services provides age-appropriate books and storytimes to young children in participating daycare sites throughout Jackson County. Services are also provided to Spanish-speaking daycare sites. The Outreach to Daycare program helps set the foundation for reading and a love of books in young children by making high quality picture books accessible to children in daycare.
