Jackson County Library Services is pleased to announce six new Babies in the Library programs. These programs are for prewalking babies (0-12 months) accompanied by a caring adult. Siblings are welcome, as are moms, dads, grandparents, caregivers, etc.

Each session of Babies in the Library will focus on a different early literacy skill such as rhyming, repetition, reading aloud, and oral language. All of these skills are taught within a thirty-minute storytime of songs, bounces, and reading, followed by a half-hour of play and chat time. Duplicate copies of the books read during storytime will be available so each participant may check out storytime books to read with their baby at home.

Wobblers, the next step after Babies in the Library, will be held in Ashland on Tuesdays and Medford on Wednesdays. Wobblers is for babies, ages 12-36 months, who are not quite ready to sit through the preschool storytime.

Babies in the Library is funded by a grant from the John and Betty Gray Early Childhood Project through the Oregon Community Foundation and supported by the Jackson County Library Foundation
